This is an incredibly well shot and well edited film. This was shot using a Canon XH A1 and an SgPro lens adapter similar to the Letus Extreme that I have ordered. The reason I'm posting this up here is not only that it's a great short film, but because the director Anders Øvergaard was the only crew member . This shows how cheap and labour free it can be to make incredibly professional looking work.

"When I was visiting my cabin this summer, I wanted to make a new test with my Canon XH A1 and SgPro. I wrote a small script and I used my uncle, my cousins and my sister as actors."

This video is really hit and miss. I know there's a face motif throughout the video but that performance piece with him singing is pretty bent. Landscape scenes look great though. Some really nice touches throughout! Argh! I hate when things play with my emotions! There are slight rip offs of 'Melody Day' and 'Gobbledigook' in there too.

The American Astronaut (2001) FILM DOWNLOAD

Plot: Samuel Curtis, an interplanetary trader, sets forth through a rustic and remote solar system, unaware that his old friend Professor Hess is trying to kill him.

It sounds terrible by reading the plot, but it is seriously a bizarrely original and creative film. I hate sci-fi, but this is barely even a sci-fi film. More of a dystopian western set in space with the odd song. Great soundtrack too which is written by the director. There are some parts of it that I thought were bent, but you have to take these things with a pinch of salt. I think I'm going to buy this one on DVD. You should too if you liked it. Give something back to the small directors.

It's been years since I looked at this guys site. There's a good few news ones since then. I first came across him when he did the album artwork for The Mars Volta's album Amputechture. I don't love all of his work, but there are large amounts of really nice pieces. For me, his painting style, mixed with the abstract subject matter provokes us to question what it is we're looking at, and what he is trying to convey.
