"A new photo book by Daniele Tamagni explores the phenomenon of 'sapeurs', a clique of extraordinarily dressed dandies from the Congo. In the midst of war and abject poverty, these men dress in tailored suits, silk ties, and immaculate footwear."

This is really bizarre, but brilliant! Some of these pictures look like something out of a Wes Anderson film.

This is the second thing I've seen today by pure chance about cliques in remote parts of poverty effected regions. The other being a Aboriginal town in Northern Australia that has gangs who are defined by Heavy Metal bands. Metallica Mob and Judas Priest Mob are just some of the local gangs. Even the girls have their own with Madonna Mob. Watch that documentary on VBS.TV. It's really interesting! Also, there's a heavy metal dance off in it. Need I say anymore!

This is an incredibly well shot and well edited film. This was shot using a Canon XH A1 and an SgPro lens adapter similar to the Letus Extreme that I have ordered. The reason I'm posting this up here is not only that it's a great short film, but because the director Anders Øvergaard was the only crew member . This shows how cheap and labour free it can be to make incredibly professional looking work.

"When I was visiting my cabin this summer, I wanted to make a new test with my Canon XH A1 and SgPro. I wrote a small script and I used my uncle, my cousins and my sister as actors."

This video is really hit and miss. I know there's a face motif throughout the video but that performance piece with him singing is pretty bent. Landscape scenes look great though. Plot: Samuel Curtis, an interplanetary trader, sets forth through a rustic and remote solar system, unaware that his old friend Professor Hess is trying to kill him.

It sounds terrible by reading the plot, but it is seriously a bizarrely original and creative film. I hate sci-fi, but this is barely even a sci-fi film. More of a dystopian western set in space with the odd song. Great soundtrack too which is written by the director. There are some parts of it that I thought were bent, but you have to take these things with a pinch of salt. I think I'm going to buy this one on DVD. You should too if you liked it. Give something back to the small directors.

“I was inspired by the idea of finding an artifact found in an attic or a videotape buried in a ditch,” “I wanted to create something that was more like a feeling. I had to close my eyes and allow myself to get to a place where I could tap into ideas and images.” - Harmony Korine

Harmony Korine, writer of Kids (1995) and director of Julien Donkey-Boy (1999) returns with his follow up to his 2007 film Mister Lonely with what seems to be his most experimental and provocative film to date. The films style is one which mimics a worn VHS tape, and follows a "loser-gang cult-freak collective" who literally hump trash cans and perform other tasteless acts. Korine says that the inspiration for the film came from his observations of people in his neighbourhood while growing up in Nashville, Tennesse. The look of the film is a huge contrast from his last film, which was a fully fledged high budget production. It will be interesting to see if this film has any substance, or whether it will turn out being a pretentious low budget mess, with the sole purpose of shocking the audience. Either way, I look forward to it.

Tim was in Tokyo the last few weeks working on a number of different projects. One being his first ever exhibition. He unveiled Garden of Unearthly Delights at the Diesel Denim Gallery in the Aoyama district of Tokyo this Friday, August 14. The installment "consists of new moving images and prints based around a story that he has been writing about a lone creature that slowly comes to understand its own existence and, through a series of mind-altering events, its purpose for living." This joke of a blog is ripping off The Sartorialist while doing a great job of proving Irish people can't look as cool as other nationalities and shows how much of a shithole Dublin really is. I really don't see most of these as style. I see them as desperate attempts to be different without any conscious consideration for stylistic taste. http://dublinstreets.blogspot.com

The girl on the left looks like she let a bunch of 4 year olds raid a closet of a wealthy widow and do whatever the hell they wanted. The blokes hair is bent.

I'm guessing before she left her house she asked her mates if she looked good, and like all women, they lied and said she looked "GARJISS!!!", reinforcing her delusion. She just looks like a plump knacker after a tacky dress rehearsal for some cheap play.

Don't be fooled, she isn't actually using a Sid Vicious type scowl in this photo. Contrary to popular belief it is actually the outcome of her genetical north side Dublin inbreeding. She looks like she's about to kick the shit out of the camera person.

I'm well aware that I'm not a stylish person. I like to keep things modest while being well dressed, but I still know when someone looks well, or looks like a bell end.

Jennifer Livingston's installation art featured videotaped interviews of furniture industry employees projected onto white-painted pieces of furniture. Her project was exhibited in Lenoir's historic Bernhardt-Seagle Building.

Livingston interviewed 15 people in their homes, asking how they felt about their jobs and what it meant to be laid off, as well as what they predicted for Lenoir's economic future.

"They were very open," she said. "Most were sad because they felt the industry was here for so long and all the people in Lenoir gave so much to the furniture industry. They weren't angry, just sad."

Livingston took the four best interviews, edited each to five minutes, and then projected each one onto a white-painted piece of furniture similar to furnishings in that person's home. She hoped the installation's 3-D effect would help personalize a community concern.

I thought this was a nice concept and the projections look really nice. I'd say it's pretty miserable like some early Nick Broomfield documentary, but with American accents.

Finally, I got this all sorted and uploaded to Rapidshare. It's been a load of stress due to formatting issues etc. The world is now ready for the Aphex Twin influenced sounds of Cian Moynan. This is the first release of three that I'm going to make of his stuff. If you like IDM and glitchy pop type instrumental electronic music and harsh droning noise then you'll enjoy this. Remember now. It is very heavily influenced by Aphex Twin and Squarepusher etc. Most of these tracks were made by Cian while sitting on the floor of our apartment in Wolverhampton, UK, during the start of 2008. The remaining tracks were created in his family home in Tipperary during the Summer and Autumn of 2008. Since then he has joined the Australian army and is currently training in Singleton before being deployed to Afghanistan.

When he went to Australia in December of 2008, he left a large number of tracks on CDs and on hard drives which I compiled into 2 albums and an EP. This is the first release of the three. Due to the fact that a lot of the tracks were unpronounceable I took the liberty of creating names for most of the tracks, although there are still a number of tracks with their original titles. The album art work is a photo of Cian which he took of himself in Wolverhampton. I then cropped and photoshopped the photo using numerous filters and other miscellaneous tools. I hope it was worth all the hassle and some people actually bother listening too it. If you like it tell your friends.

If only he came home and made some more kind of new music instead of defusing mines. That would be much cooler and much safer.

Jogging Droid in the Forest COVER DESIGN

This is a cover I designed for Cian Moynan's supercalifragilistic album 'Jogging Droid in the Forest'. The photo is one he took of himself while we were living together in the UK and I photoshopped it to bits. I plan on uploading all of his material onto the internet this weekend. Two albums and an EP will be uploaded. Anyone into IDM will enjoy this, probably it's very heavily influenced by Aphex Twin. While compiling the albums I've listened to these tracks over and over, and they've really grown on me. Hopefully other people will enjoy them too.
